About this Site

The Kentucky Division of Compliance Assistance unveiled a new design for its Web site in January 2006.  The new site is best viewed using Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5 or above with a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 (See Changing Your Screen Resolution for help).  MacIntosh users should visit Microsoft's Mac Download site for information about upgrading their browsers.

The new site is organized quite differently than the old and our navigational structure is therefore far different than it used to be.  That's because we've moved from a department-oriented structure - one that was driven largely by our organizational chart - to an initiative-oriented structure - one that is driven by functions and programs.  We believe this will make it easier for those who are unfamiliar with our internal structure to find what they need on our site.

One result of these changes is that you will need to revise any hyperlinks and bookmarks that pointed to our old Web site.  You might even find some links that don't work.  If you do, please contact our office at marlene.boyle@ky.gov.

Much of what was on our old Web site is no longer here, because the previous site's content was outdated.  And a lot of it was simply not critical to our goal of making the new Web site as user friendly and easy to navigate as possible.

Why did we make this change?  For a number of reasons.  First and foremost, we wanted to make it easier for you to find the information you need.  Another important concern was the inaccessibility of our previous site to people with disabilities.  This new site is fully accessible to people with visual impairments, as required by the federal Americans with Disabilities Act.  We have also implemented an entirely new content management system that is going to help us keep everything on the site up to date.  This will ensure that you have the most current information available any time you visit this site.

The new site features several tools we believe accomplish this goal. Among them are:

  • a powerful search engine that is available at the top of every page
  • an accurate and detailed site map
  • a new navigation menu that expands to show what lies beneath each main category

We hope you agree that the new site is more user friendly than the old site.  Again, you will need to revise any hyperlinks and bookmarks that led to the old site.

If you have questions, comments or suggestions about our new site please contact Marlene Boyle at (502) 564-0323 or marlene.boyle@ky.gov.
