Compliance Advisory Panel

Kentucky Small Business Air Quality Advisory Panel

The panel has 11 members who are appointed by the governor. The panel members represent small businesses, the general public, economic development programs and air quality regulators.

The panel's duties include:

  • Advising the Division of Compliance Assistance and Division for Air Quality on program effectiveness.
  • Preparing periodic reports to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
  • Reviewing information for small businesses to assure it is understandable to the layperson.
  • Disseminating reports, reviews and advisory opinions.
  • In 1997, the panel established the Small Business Air Quality Stewardship Awards to recognize small businesses that are leaders in improving air quality and whose practices could easily be duplicated by others.

    Quarterly panel meetings are held at the offices of the Division for Air Quality, 803 Schenkel Lane, Frankfort, Ky. Agendas are available two weeks in advance.

    What's Ahead: 

    At the Jan. 28, 2008 meeting, it was recommended, pending a quorum, that nominee Jon Trout serve as chair of the Small Business Air Quality Advisory Panel and Jean G. Watts serve as vice chair for 2008. 

    The 2008 meeting schedule is as follows:

    • 1st Quarter       Jan. 28
    • 2nd Quarter      April 29*
    • 3rd Quarter       July 28
    • 4th Quarter       Oct. 27

    *Meetings will start at 1:30 p.m. EST, with the exception of the April meeting, which will begin at 10 a.m. EST.
